Composer, singer, saxophonist and artistic all-rounder Othman El Kheloufi was born in Salé in north-western Morocco. As an autodidact, he develops his own compositions and melodies, a proper, personal language that combines influences from everywhere with jazz, chaabi and other popular Maghreb music traditions. He himself calls his style 'neo-beldi' (referring to 'le bled', the 'back of beyond'), an adventurous sound stemming from tradition, the sounds of his youth. We are proud to be able to listen to his unique poetry of sound, words & silence. Get a taste here.

Robert Machiri is a sound worker. He works primarily through auditory mediation manifested through social practice. Machiri’s work exists at the juncture of two streams; music and post-disciplinary reproduction presented through embodied and process driven modalities. His work is most notable through PUNGWE, a project of mutable practices that circle pan African soundings with related contemporary arts discourses and spaces. Sanza Sandile is the founder and maker of the Yeoville Dinner Club, a space for tasting Pan-Afrikan futures while sharing a dinner table. Dubbed a culinary smuggler and the “El Bulli of Yeovillle”, Sanza Sandile affirms the dignity of encounters by his unique twist to otherwise well-known African dishes, such as vegan Egusi or Okra-stews. His mixology of flavours, tastes and stories speaks to his earlier career as a radio DJ and selector at YFM and other radio stations of crucial importance in the sonic history of South Africa. His home spot, inspiration and utopia is Yeoville, the famed Johannesburg suburb called the “most diverse hood in Africa”. The table of the Yeoville Dinner Club is both an archive of routes and stories, and a portal to imagining otherwise. Get hungry here.
